Amber B. Benton, MA, LPC
Amber B. Benton is a Licensed Professional Counselor and holds a Master of Arts degree in Mental Health Counseling from Campbell University and a Bachelor's degree in Psychology from Meredith College. She completed a three-year post graduate residency in spiritually integrated psychotherapy from Wake Forest Baptist Medical Center. She began working in the counseling field during a graduate internship in August 2012 at CareNet Counseling. During her internship she completed over 750 hours working with children, adolescents, and adults in individual, group, couples, and family settings. Areas of treatment have included personal, behavioral, emotional, relationship, and family difficulties, as well a working with clients with histories of addiction and trauma. Amber is trained to provide counseling for a variety of issues: anxiety, depression, ADHD, grief, loss, life transitions and adjustments, as well as issues affecting couples, parents and families. She has studied a wide range of counseling theories, but relies mostly on person-centered, cognitive-behavioral, solution focused and reality therapy approaches.
